About Collagen Stimulation Therapy (medical needling)
Collagen Stimulation Therapy (micro-needling) is a pain-free, cutting-edge, skin rejuvenation treatment using the Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® and the Environ® Focus- CIT®, this painless revolutionary procedure uses a roller containing tiny needles (1 to 1.5mm long) which creates thousands of microscopic puncture wounds in the lower levels of your skin. The skin responds to Collagen stimulation therapy in the same way that it would react to injury. The small amount of bleeding (which stops within seconds) during the treatment releases powerful growth factors which stimulate collagen and elastin production.
Unlike Laser resurfacing, dermabrasion and dermal peels CST keeps the epidermis intact, meaning back to work the next day, less risk of infection, no risk of photosensitivity or hyper-pigmentation and it is safe to repeat many times.
CST can significantly improve the appearance of;

How does it work?
Collagen Induction Therapy (CST) Also known as percutaneous Collagen Therapy or medical needling) uses a small roller called the Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® covered in minute needles( no longer than 1 to 1.5mm). This creates a multitude of tiny puncture wounds to the Papillary dermis, but keeps the epidermis (top layer of your skin) intact. Each tiny wound goes through 3 phases;
Pain-free-During the procedure a topical anesthetic is used to numb your skin prior to treatment.
Results can be seen in the weeks (from 6 weeks after the first treatment) and months following your first treatment.
Is it better than Laser resurfacing/dermabrasion or dermal peels?
Some specialists believe the results are the same if not better, but what’s more important is that creating micro-dermal damage without the removal of the healthy epidermis, (as happens with other resurfacing techniques, such as dermabrasion, dermal peels or laser resurfacing) means that results can be seen faster, less or no downtime, less risk of infection or sun sensitivity, no permanent scaring, suits all skin types, even the most sensitive, can be repeated many times. and can be done on all areas of the face and body It’s cost effective and will last. Being able to retain the integrity of the epidermis is a major benefit of this treatment. Clients who may have been considering laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, or dermal peels would be highly recommended to try CST first.
How do you maximize CST results?
Percutaneous collagen induction (as it is more formally known) was introduced in 1997 as an indication for the safe method of treating post-burn injury, wrinkles and stretch marks without the risk of dyspigmentation or scarring. Research lead by Dr Matthias Aust (Hannover medical school, Germany) showed that results were 6 x more effective for those patients who combined their needling treatment with topical active vitamin A and C creams prior to and in the months following.
80% of patients also noted, within this study, that LED red light therapy gave them even smoother skin.
Oral vitamin C is also understood to ‘switch on’ the collagen making processes.
For these reasons, I will only perform this treatment on clients who have been using Environ active vitamin A for at least 3 weeks prior to the treatment date, and highly recommend they take 1000mg of vitamin C.
Omnilux red light therapy is included in the cost of each treatment and can either be taken on the day, or up to 3 days later.
